The Perryville and St. Vincent cross-country teams had the opportunity to see how they stack up against their conference opponents. They made the most of that chance as the St. Vincent boys and girls each finished fifth and the Perryville boys finished sixth at the Jefferson County Athletic Association meet on Saturday at West City Park in Festus.
The Perryville girls did not qualify to place as a team because they had only three runners participate, but they left their marks on the race. Tegan Bishop came in first place with a time of 20:51.04. The time was more than 25 seconds faster than De Soto’s Kayla Vogelsang, who finished in second place overall.
Kira Hagan came in 37th overall (25:27.01) and Keturah Pyland finished 47th (27:32.38) to round out the day for the Lady Pirates.
