Barbara Ann Cook, 79, of Whitewater passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Bell City, daughter of Guy C. and Clara Simmons Wilson. She and Marion “Red” Cook were married Jan. 1, 1964 in Randles. They had been married 40 years when Red passed away May 30, 2004.
While growing up, Barbara attended the Pentecostal Church in Randles. Upon moving to Whitewater, she attended Whitewater United Methodist Church.
Prior to her marriage, Barbara was employed at the former shoe factory in Chaffee. After marriage, she surrendered her job and devoted her life to full time homemaking. Her family meant the world to her and she never tired of caring for them and spending time with them.
Barbara’s two favorite activities were dancing and listening to Elvis Presley music.
Loving survivors include two children, Steven Andrew Cook of Cape Girardeau and Debbie Lynne Wills and fiancé Randy Hershey of Perryville; two granddaughters Shelby Harris of Dallas, Texas and Sidney (Patrick) Kenary of Jackson; and two great grandchildren Hallie and Liam Kenary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, nine brothers, and a sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Dowdy officiating.
Interment will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gordonville.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Independence Care Center in Perryville.
