Absentee voting is currently underway for the General Election

Any voter unable to make it to their polling location on November 8, has the opportunity over the next six weeks to cast a ballot prior to Election Day. This can be done by mail or in person at the Perry County Clerk’s office located at 321 N Main St. Ste 2, Perryville. In-person voters are required to present one of the forms of acceptable identification and sign the poll pad to obtain a ballot:
A nonexpired Missouri driver or non-driver license;
A nonexpired military ID, including a veteran’s ID card;
A nonexpired United States passport; or
Another photo ID issued by the United States or the state of Missouri which is either not expired or expired after the date of the most recent general election.
By law, absentee voters must provide one of the following reasons for voting absentee:
Absence on Election Day from the jurisdiction of the election authority in which such voter is registered to vote;
Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability, including a person who is primarily responsible for the physical care of a person who is incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability (No Notary Required);
Religious belief or practice;

Employment as an election authority, as a member of an election authority, or by an election authority at a location other than such voter’s polling place;
Incarceration, provided all qualifications for voting are retained; or
Certified participation in the address confidentiality program established under sections 589.660 to 589.681 RSMo. because of safety concerns.
Relatives within the second degree (spouse, parents and children) may complete an absentee ballot application, in person, on behalf of the voter who wishes to vote absentee for a ballot to be mailed. Mail in or faxed absentee ballot requests must be received by the clerk’s office no later than the 5 pm on the October 26.
Due to a recent change in election law, from October 25 to November 7, 2022, voters may vote a no-excuse absentee ballot in person at the clerk’s office.
All voters are reminded that due to a change in state statute, those wanting to cast a ballot will need to provide valid photo identification at the polls in November.
Additionally, voters who reside in western Perry County that previously voted at White Water Christian Church in Yount or St Rose of Lima church hall in Silver Lake are reminded their polling location is now at the Lake Perry Office located at 14901 Hwy T, Perryville. A postcard was mailed to households impacted by the change in polling location, and new voter registration cards were mailed to those registered.
Complete details on absentee voting, a link to the absentee application form, and sample ballot can be found on Perry County’s website at www.perrycountymo.us under the county clerk’s tab.
