4-H shooting sports club training Feb. 27

Saturday, Feb. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be an air pistol and rifle, smallbore rifle and muzzleloading mandatory safety training event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Legion Main Hall (98 Grand Avenue, Perryville).

Safety first, but a lot of fun...Punch paper and count X's. Learn safe gun-handling skills. Explore different shooting positions. Discover skills for a lifetime of recreation and career and build self-esteem.

Club shooting sessions will take place weekends from March through June at 1091 PCR 846, Perryville.

The cost is $20. Scholarships are available. No equipment is necessary to participate as 4-H owned equipment is available.

Those interested are encouraged to register by Friday, Feb. 26.

The event is taught for 4-h certified instructors Les Lowes and Darin Buchheit.

A parent or adult (at least 21 years or older) must accompany those younger than 18 at all sessions.
